Please, read description.

As a request from Beatles Instrumentals and More, here it is my attempt of a stereo mix of The Beach Boys 1965 single only A-Side, ''The Little Girl I Once Knew''.
No true stereo mix of the final release exists due to allegedly some of the sessions tapes being recorded over by Brian Wilson for some other sessions. So, this stereo mix was done by using most of the final instrumental stereo track and the best source for the song in its final mono mix, syncing them and avoiding phasing issues as much as I could. I didn't attempt to extract anything from the mono mix as I didn't want to risk to degrade the sound quality of the song, which isn't the greatest.

Enjoy!

WOW! I'm listening to this in premium headsets, and the instruments really come out on this remix! I've been a HUGE Beach Boys fan ever since I heard Surfin' Safari back in '62. Greatest harmony group ever! This is an awesome remaster of this song. Can't believe this wasn't on the "Sounds of Summer" album, that would have made it perfect.

This is the greatest! Turn it up, turn it right up. It's GOT to be a hit. It's the greatest record I've heard for weeks. It's fantastic. I hope it will be a hit. It's all Brian Wilson. He just uses the voices as instruments. He never tours or anything. He just sits at home thinking up fantastic arrangements out of his head. Doesn't even read music. You keep waiting for the fabulous breaks. Great arrangement. It goes on and on with all different things. I hope it's a hit so I can hear it all the time.

When that brilliant instrumental intro reappears at 2:04, all you can do is marvel at the musical genius of Brian Wilson.

When Brian has his nervous breakdown, It was sad But! Not touring allowed Brian to be in his true element. The recording Studio with Pro. musicians, Writing and Creating the most Spectacular Tracks ready for Vocals to be added when The Beach Boys got back from touring. And these tracks with vocals are True Classic's to this day.

I was looking for a decent stereo mix of this...just over a year ago. I guess I should have waited a few weeks! Nicely done.

Oh wow I just realized you had to extract the vocals from the mono for this.

A lot more impressive then I originally thought, nice job.

Pet Sounds sample song. I totally love it! (Even John Lennon said this was their best song).
It's awesome to hear it in stereo, it sounds clean and crisp. Can't wait for the download link of Pet Sounds! (I think you should add this song to the album)

Has that same accordion in/out pulse that Wouldn’t it Be Nice has.

Why Capitol issued some of the stuff in a near mono simulated stereo on CD is beyond me, when they can ask people like you and I to go into a strudio and sync up all those 4 track session tapes to make a REAL stereo mix

Sounds great! Was the source the DCC edition of Spirit Of America?

Is there a FLAC link for this wonderful mix?

Oof, it falls apart a bit when you put it in stereo doesn't it. The accordions (?) in the right channel aren't in the pocket at all, but they got away with it when it was all blended together in mono.
