I had a retinal detachment with multiple retinal tears. It took 3 surgeries to fix it. I now have wavy central vision, flashes of light and no peripheral vision.

I just recently learned I have two genetic variants for the two main causes of macular degeneration which puts me at an increased risk for it. So that’s cool, especially because I have high myopia at -6.25(right eye) and -6.50(left eye) respectively in my eyes which also puts me at an increased risk for rental tears and detachments 🙃

Hello sir, my name is Ajit kumar and I am 28 years old.I had injury in my left eye there is dark spot in centre of my eye which does not allow me to read or not able to see properly.So I immediately go to sankra Netralaya Kolkata for my eye checkup after OCT & Color founds test they told me that your Retina got scratches and that part of retina get thin.They told me there is no such assured treatment of retina improvement in medical science and you will remain with this vision as it is. So Sir please kindly give some assured treatment my eye for my better future.

I think I have it in my left eye because all I see is shadows. I see ok in right eye, but I have astigmatism , I had it in my left eye in 2018 until I got a floater one morning in my left eye and it was a black spot that moved around when I looked around in the room. I was 65. When I moved to a different place tree limbs looked bent. I took the grid test and some of the lines looked bent out of shape. I had my glasses changed but when look at the chart with my left eye it had dark shadow around the top row. I could read the line that was all. I couldn't see the second line. The dr. Didn't go any further. He claimed I had untreated glaucoma. I knew better. He wanted to Lasic surgery. I said not right now I just wanted my glasses changed.
It helped for while, but now all I see is dark shadows in my left. It tries to clear up somestimes. My side vision on left eye is way off. 👤 kind of shadowy, like that. I see mostly with my right eye. I take vision pills. I don't see that much improvement.😞

My father his brother and sister all came down with macular degeneration. I am 71 and looking forward to the same thing unfortunately

I am 23 and have macular degeneration. The doctor told me over time I will lose my central vision in my left eye over time, but don't know when. My right eye central vision is completely gone.

i have non age related macular degeneration which consists of blood stains around the macula since i was 12 yaer old after i was hit under my eye with a rock, is there a solution yet? also in my mri the fovea looks destroyed, and i can't see in the center only.

Interesting video. A question though that I didn't find answered. Since there is deterioration mostly it seems in the central part of the eyesight, if you look to the left or right, will that be clear? For example, you could read a letter if held in front of you, but if it is held to the left far enough (without moving your head) can you read it instead? Or does the center blind-space "follow" your gaze and is always in the center wherever you look? I am looking into technical ways to make assistance beyond magnifiers and knowing this would be helpful before I start.
