The irony is that the only way to abolish conventional beauty standards is to know what they are in the first place.

qoves isn't profiting from your insecurities, they're explaining why everyone else is 💀

i think the Redditor is being unreasonable your blunt delivery is what makes these videos stand out as you provide reasoning to the "harsh comments" please continue to provide truthful analysis of facial aesthetics instead of trying to avoid offending people

Why is the burden of proof for this channel so much higher than for other beauty channels who give (at best) their opinions on beauty standards and pass it off as fact? E.g. "THIS Is why you're ugly..." with absolutely 0 evidence other than one personal experience (sample size of 1), but a sample size of 200 is not enough for QOVES.

Reality isn't kind. Truth cannot make everyone feel good.

You've done well to give balanced information.

A problem a lot of people seem to have is that they can't match ''accepting'' yourself with the idea that you are not perfect.

If you are perfect there is nothing to accept. Acceptance is knowing your imperfections, knowing what you can and can't do about them and not feeling bad about it. You can accept yourself and self improve/know you can self improve.

I was actually motivated by your channel to better myself (not by surgery), even though the media tries to convince you everyone is equally beautiful, the fact that conventionally unattractive people would be treated differently is something no amount of words can change, and being sad about it wouldn’t make anything better, so i got really motivated to change some of my bad habits and your channel helped me a lot on it.

Honestly if anything your channel has made me feel better about my appearance. I don't fit into today's super narrow, trendy social-media-era beauty standards, but you've shown me that I still fit into many of the average/healthy objective beauty standards in more ways than I expected. Is my face scientifically perfect? Of course not. But it's fairly balanced, and being aware of that keeps my confidence up even when I'm scrolling through Instagram and seeing beautiful faces that look different from mine.

Honestly your blunt way of explaining things to others actually helps out unlike those generic beauty videos talking about the same thing on Youtube. You care enough to actually help out people in the best way possible using your tough love delivery will help motivate others and It did to me too. Earlier this year I gained a lot more weight and I felt bad about myself even my family noticed it but after watching one of your videos I decided screw it and i'm gonna do my best to lose weight and go back to the way I was before and so far its working.

The objectivity of this channel has helped me normalized my self-image and appreciate features I've overlooked. You've always made it very clear that people who fit ideals are outliers.

The world is filled with triggers, but we must be accountable for ourselves and set boundaries. I say this as someone who's in the same position as OP.

Please don't change. If they reditor finds your videos triggering then they definitely should not be watching your videos. It's their responsibility to create a safe space for themselves, both online and offline. The world can not and should not change to suit them. No one is obliged to do so. It's selfish and selfish centered to expect this of others. You have done nothing wrong.

my respect for you and loves just skyrocketed, plus your bluntness and the fact that you are straightforward are my favourites things about your videos. That and the fact that you always manage to give facts while giving many point of views, plus you are very inclusive. Feeling offended by what you guys present shouldn't be a reason to discredit your works. You guys manage to explain how beauty and attractiveness work in a pretty objective point of view without romanticising it, if someone ends up feeling offended I kinda feel like it's their problem, not yours. It's not like you are just telling people that they're ugly or that it's their fault. Please don't let insecure people change your content in any way.

Wow I posted on your sub the other day expressing the exact opposite feeling. TLDR I’ve struggled with body dysmorphia my entire life and watching your videos has helped me realize I’m just a normal looking person, not a sewer blob!

Don’t fold! These videos are clutch!
As a woman I’ve found the courage to not fall into the fake cheerleading “you’re a 10!” ladies do. So thank you for that😌

"Better to get hurt by the truth than comforted with a lie."
I like this quote, but I feel like a lot of people out there would prefer the exact opposite. Easy, comforting lies feel much nicer than the harshness of reality. Sometimes it goes so far that I feel like there's a culture war against the mere existence of an objective reality, with people protesting the fact that not everything will bend over backwards to make them feel good at all times. For my part, I appreciate the blunt and realistic phrasing you use, and how you back it all up with scientific studies rather than streams of feel-good jargon. I'd also assume that most of your steady viewers are people who have made peace with reality, and understand that we can be loved, valued, and respected for traits other than perfect jawlines or how smooth our skin texture is. Don't let yourself get cancelled by people who prefer comforting lies over truth.

Your channel makes me feel more okay with my appearance. Understanding beauty in an objective focus (rather than a subjective one) made me realize there's nothing inherently wrong or "bad" with being low in attractiveness.

I'm an artist and I love your channel. It has actually helped me a lot understanding what makes a face look beautiful, how a face is structured and traits that make a face look a certain way. I think it solidified a lot of the knowledge I already had and made it easier for me to use in my artwork.

Please stay the same. I love your no bullshit approach, don't become less direct because some people get offended. Your approach is descripctive about things that are, usually, very superficial. So thank you very much for this channel.

I did a Quoves report BEFORE I did any plastic surgeries. Their feedback helped me prioritize what would benefit me from changing the most. One of the most prominent suggestions was weight loss. Which is both accurate and not surgery. I completely appreciated the feedback to confirm where I was coming up short in a scientific way before going into a surgeons office who may have suggested things I don’t need.

You're such a based guy qoves, I love your videos, even though I've learnt that I'm far from beautiful, I'm incredibly grateful for every bit of knowledge I get to improve what I've got. The videos are informative, helpful and disillusioning. Which some people can't take and others see as an opportunity.
