Lord of Lightning feels like something out of Final Fantasy rather than Mario yet the fact that it feels out of place makes it memorable as a boss.

The day finally came. Mario went to mustache to face with an actual no-nonsense dragon. I believe, yes, I believe life is complete now.

And Bowser's Kingdom, echoes of Sammer Kingdom from Super Paper Mario, anyone? Not only is the music absolutely amazing, but they even used a shamisen for when Mario uses the electrical zipline. It's those little attentions to detail that make games like this worth every minute.

To the Moon next? Mario's like, "Moon? Bowser, bitch please, I've done space before, twice!"
