The Australian Associate Editor Graham Lloyd says US President Donald Trump is waiting for Chinese President Xi Jinping to “pick up the phone”.

“The biggest game in town globally – I think treasury did the analysis of what the trade war means for Australia … they concluded that 80 per cent of the impact will come from disruption in China,” Mr Lloyd said.

“The US and China relations have deteriorated to the point where the tariffs are now at a point where trade is unsustainable.
