Poultry have clutches of eggs, broods of chicks and at most can wait 10 days before nesting. Eggs will usually hatch within 24 hours of each other. Average incubation is 28 days.

Thanks! I have been wondering about those questions you have just answered. So next question what is the common noun for a male and female snake. For example using the chicken reference a female is a hen and rooster for a male. What is it for snakes? And do the babies have a common noun ie chick? That is because a bird incubation doesn't start until the mother sits on the egg and keeps it warm.
