Cobra Kai is an American martial arts comedy-drama streaming television series and a sequel to the Karate Kid's original movie directed by Robert Mark Kamen. The series was created by Josh Heeld, John Harwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who repeated their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 movie The Karate Kid. Thirty-four years later, the Cobra Kai examines the story of "Miyagi Verse" from Johnny's point of view, his decision to reopen the Cobra Kai Karate Dojo, and the resurgence of his old competition with Daniel. The Cobra Kai also plays Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Dechenzo, Martin Kove, Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List. This series boasts high ratings on both YouTube and Netflix and has received widespread positive reviews from critics. The third season was also nominated for an "Outstanding Comedy Series" at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. The first season started on YouTube Red in 2018 and the second season continued in 2019. After the production of the third season was completed, YouTube decided to stop producing the original scripted show and leave the show without a house. Netflix acquired the series in June 2020 and released the third season on January 1, 2021. Netflix expanded the series to the fourth season, released on December 31, 2021. The fourth season of the Cobra Kai was released on Netflix on December 31, 2021 and consists of 10 episodes. This series is a direct sequel to the four original films of The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, more than 30 years after the original film. Following the first two seasons on YouTube, Netflix will release the second season. There are 12 protagonists in the season, nine of which are back from the previous season, two are added to the main cast after being repeated in the previous season, and one is a newcomer to the series that repeats the role from the franchise. Nariyoshi Miyagi (Mr. Miyagi) is a fictional karate master in The Karate Kid film series who mentors Daniel LaRusso and Julie Pierce. The battle for the soul of the Valley may be over, but the war is just beginning. Cobra Kai Season 5 premieres 9 September only on Netflix. Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Sensei Terry Silver is expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his "No Mercy" style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he's caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.

Terry said it in s4 that Daniel was easy to manipulate. He just had to wind him up and let him go. This was a massive break through for Daniel because he truly was humbled in s5.

I really loved the scene in Episode 5 when Johnny helps Daniel through his struggles. Daniel just bursts into his house and calls him a pussy, but instead of being riled up Johnny just says "What are you doing, man?" and calmly sits him down and has a talk with him. That was NOT what he would've done back in Season 1. Such amazing development with his character.

I honestly think this is right on par with season 1. Season 1 and 5 are absolutely incredible. Seasons 2, 3, and 4 were good buildup but season 5 was all payoff and awesome character resolution. I had a huge smile on my face so many times. I think it was perfect and honestly I do not even think there should be a season 6.

I totally agree, this season had everything from the previous seasons (as far as themes, romance, drama, revenge/striking first and many other story elements).

For me this was the best season. The only thing I could say wasn't as good as the past was the final fight for Daniel. I think Kreese versus Daniel was more intense and had better choreography.

Probably my favorite season... like seriously, no Stranger Things bs. This season had everything: the Pacing was imo really well thought out, it didn't seem rushed
