P.S. IF you moved the window cover and covered the open window with it, doggy would be warmer. I realized your not missing one, you just have it in the open window set-up. Same thing with the vent in the back of it. It ought be covered, then they would be a little warmer with their body heat.

It's a fab bargain for that ASL Solutions Dog Palace that you got blessed with. I got one for when I am at work for one of my dogs bec she does not have a thick coat, just as yours does not. I had bought her 2 coats that I also put on her. With that missing window piece there and no heat, no it's not very warm in there, even though yes, it's insulated and you've got chips. How warm would your insulated hse be with a window open, chips on the floor and no heat?
~They do have heaters one can get for that house. It's AWESOME. It has a thermostat one can set and it shows on the left the actual temp in there as well. It's 31F here today; (was 11F yesterday) and both days - when I got home from work, the inside of her hse was 76! Gives me great peace of mind.
~~Bef that I had a classic igloo which is fine for other seasons, but alone, it is worthless in winter. It does not keep them warm, even w/a door flap. One CAN use wheat straw and fill the house w/it, then they could get warm.
~~~But as yours is right now? 'Bet you'd be mighty surprised if you put a temp gauge in there, then you would see how warm it isn't! All those are doing are keeping the wind mostly off of them, snow and rain, but warm in there? Hell no. Beautiful doggies!

This plastic house can only protect from rain but not from cold and even less from heat. Only wood can do that.
