How to become a model in 2024- application process & tips!

I want to be a model. What should I do? I feel like I'm not a model, like I was tricked by an agency into paying for a photo shoot. Is there any way to get to go modeling? I've dreamed of it since childhood.❤

Thank you the advise :). I have a question, I have an Instagram account that has all my pictures and all, but it is private as I don't want people that know me IRL to find it. Should I keep it private or make it public so that agencies can find me?
