Rise Up Community School wants answers after Denver police searched campus for suspect

Students and teachers at a Downtown Denver charter school want answers after Denver Police searched their school. While DPD is defending its actions, the schools principal is questioning their version of events.

The kids were scared to go back to school because they didnt want guns pointed at them. When the suspect was wanted for a shooting...this is comical

It’s so sad that the police were trying to control a threat that was a potential danger to the life and safety of students and staff, and they get nothing but bad press for it. I watched the body camera footage of the search here on YouTube and they were doing their job to keep those inside the school safe. Those police were very professional and did what they needed to do. Great job to the Denver Police Department. And thank you for your service to your community.

The Principal is straight up lying in this. They told him the suspect was wanted in connection to a homicide.

lol the kids were laughing when the cops came in their classroom i saw no scared faces. even the one kid they had take off his hat was joking around. also no mention that the person they were looking for shot his girlfriend and her brother...

One of the most messed up schools I've ever seen. The teachers are horrible. Little morals or ethics and definitely no concern for community safety.

Principal says police didn’t say a word about a threat but body camera footage reveals that he’s lying. An officer told him “he’s wanted for attempted homicide last night”.

As the high amount of school shootings we had in the pass, I would not want a murder suspect around my kids school. We know that he’s not afraid to Shoot people, he could of start shooting students. Then the police would be blame for not taking the murder suspect into custody

they didn’t draw their guns on the teacher, they were already out and pointed in the direction of the door if the kid was inside and tried to escape, watch the body cam footage

The officer drew his gun because they were searching for an attempted murder suspect. You need to be angry at the principal for delaying the police and possibly letting an attempted murder suspect get away.
