I'm a newcastle fan of nearly 40 years now despite being from cardiff for many different reasons one of which was my father stories of the people of newcastle. He/we are mixed race & he travelled all over the country with a heavy haulage company in the 50's & 60's & told us from when we were kids that the best people he'd ever met throughout the country were the geordies. A number of families he met there used to put him & his brothers up for free any time they were in the north east & years later i experienced the warmth & hospitality of the people of newcastle for myself. And as much as i am overjoyed as a fan for the club to have won this trophy my overriding feeling is pure joy for the people of newcastle. No city or town in the whole of the country could deserve this more & i am proud to count myself as a fan of this amazing club. I wish i could have been there but watched ever bit of coverage i can find all weekend. My favourite image of the whole weekend being a little girl on her fathers shoulders, her face lit up with glee as she joined in with the rest of the toon army around her swinging her scarf above her head & her dad tearing up as the bus passed by. That says it all about not just this amazing club of ours but of the city of newcastle & it's people. Howay the people of newcastle!

I'm 74 years old, I first stood in the gallogate end at 11 freezing my pods off, watching this final and these scenes brings a tear to my eye everytime I watch it on here, as I couldn't get to the toon. Such Geordie passion and pride unrivalled!

I got the train up from Hartlepool. 10 pints in 10 different pubs. Brilliant day out for me. I went solo and could not give two shits. I'm joining in the drinking and chanting whether I'm invited or not. Met some mad-heads. Brilliant city. Brilliant club. Brilliant people.

I was so pleased for you Geordies when you won the Carabao Cup, to end those 70 years of hurt. I am from Southampton and I've met many people from Newcastle down the years, and they ALL fuckin love Newcastle United, it's their lives. the club means everything to them. When I was a kid I lived and breathed football and I used to absorb lots of football info, and one of the things i learned in those early years (1970's) was that Newcastle and (Sorry to say this) Sunderland were both potentially Liverpool's or Manchester United's. You both have HUGE fan bases, and with the right investments and with the right infrastructures in place, you could be the BIGGEST domestically and EVEN in Europe. Things seem to be falling into place for you now and MAYBE, just MAYBE you 'could' achieve GREAT THINGS! I have always liked Eddie Howe, he is not an impact manager, he is a builder, brick by brick, he will put things in place to help Newcastle reach their true potential. Just one more thing i'd like to say. IF you go on and start winning lots of trophy's DONT become cocky. Nigh on every Geordie I have met has been a lovely person, DONT become like the Man Utd fans did, many of them were HORRIBLE, cocky and some were downright nasty. I never found Man City to be quite that bad. Just remember the more trophies you win you will end up with Cockney, Brummies, and Japanese supporters. How would you feel about that? Anyway, all the best guys. Fantastic turnout yesterday for the parade.

Also, listening to Alan Shearer talking about his dad passing last May. Sadly, my dad passed last May, too. What he said about how he felt this last couple of weeks is exactly how I've felt. What a glorious day.

Players will be chomping at the bit to sign for the TOON. That parade was fantastic. The players must have loved it. Great video Chris.

Your passionate summation perfectly articulates the exhilaration & emotion I’ve been feeling for a fortnight. This is a special area with special people & this trophy & parade just embodied the ethos of what it means to be a Newcastle United supporter. It runs deep within us & I’m again feeling emotional as I type this. I pity the naysayers & those that try & ridicule us & trivialise this achievement as they will never know the true feeling of love for their team & their city as we genuine supporters do for ours. I was there yesterday with 3 generations of my family & this memory will stay with us all forever. Thanks Chris & every other person who has Newcastle in their hearts. Roll on the next one.

The town was rammed to the rafters. I've never seen anything like that, all the way up from Gallowgate, Percy Street, past the Haymarket, it was mad! Eldon Square Car park looked a human ice-cream sandwich! I'm surprised people weren't bursting out of manholes and parachuting down on to the parade from above! A fucking submarine popping up in Exhibition Park boat lake with Geordies pouring out of it! Brilliant event.

Watched it live on a couple of feeds from start to finish then sat up until 3 a.m. (well 4 a.m. with the clocks "springning forward") viewing every bit of you tube content i could find to see the different perspectives of a glorious day. Too many highlights to mention but Bruno telling millions of people either on the Town Moor or tuned in EXACTLY what he said to the players moments after he was asked not to swear was just brilliant. Had a lump in my throat or tears running down my cheeks most of the time. Looking forward to you and Mark on tomorrow and can you arrange for Mr Shearer or Tino Asprilla to present me with the signed shirt when i win it tomorrow. Excellent content as ever Chris.

Cheers Chris, great thoughts on the day and the joy of breaking the hoodoo I think it was you who was talking about how much Scholes would be emotional if Oldham could get back to the top flight and rightly so....
Anything else is straight up BS...

hard road to the final, no weakened teams and a fantastic tactical and played final....
Superb stuff. Made history and totally deserved all of it...
