Regression in Excel

This video explains how to perform a regression in Microsoft Excel. Regression examples with one independent variable and two independent variables are demonstrated.

In my head, regression is the process of estimating the relationship among the variables, taking into account all of the factors that influence it. I think at this point I was prepared to lear something more complex than just one IV, and this video delivered that. I think that this is a practical application because a lot of studied "in real life" have more than one.I think this video had good information about the R squared and multiple R.

This video did well with explaining what regression looks like in Excel. Sometimes I feel like I like Excel better, but sometimes I feel like I like SPSS better, but I was happy to see the examples from this video and how it all worked.

The example that you used about exam scores made this video very clear. Also I wasn't expecting the output to be as specific. It included how many points (.2) a student could gain for the amount of additional time studied. I thought there would be a correlation, but not that exact. Thank you for the video.

Regression was something that I wanted more info on after reading the text, especially since I am thinking of using regression in my research proposal. This was a good resource for me and will help with my understanding of the different variables and coefficients.

With this video, I understood that regression simply predicts an outcome based upon the relationship of the dependent variable and the independent variable. This is a nice tool to be able to use with multiple IVs in order to see the different outcomes on the data.

This is really useful in predicting the value of dependent variable ( test score) based on the independent variable ( minutes of study or pre-test). I really liked that you could change the value of the dependent variable and see the value of the independent variable and how one dv can affect the score more than another .

Excel seems to be easier to navigate as compared to SPSS. Dr. Grande gave an excellent explanation regarding regression. The examples provided served as an great method in deepening understanding of the key terms and functions.
