Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced computing, and other emerging technologies are precipitating a technological revolution with the potential to transform the world. Geopolitical powers—with the United States and China at the forefront—are driving a new phase of global competition for industrial power, economic advantage, and strategic edge by developing and utilizing these technologies.

To keep pace with these innovations and continue to advance practical ideas to address the world’s greatest challenges, CSIS launched the Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies.

To mark the launch of the new Center, CSIS hosted a half-day conference focused on the state of the field and future implications of AI.

The second panel of the conference featured Margie Palmieri, Deputy Chief Digital and AI Officer with the Department of Defense's Chief Digital and AI Office, and Schuyler Moore, Chief Technology Officer with U.S. Central Command, and was moderated by Gregory C. Allen, Director of the Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies at CSIS.
