Initially, UBER and LYFT was 80% to the driver, 20% to UBER and LYFT. Once they went public, they started ripping off drivers to please shareholders!

Throttling definitely happens. Every time I get down to the last few rides of my weekend quest, pings slow down

Doesn't matter how it's spread either. I did 45 rides on a Friday, then 20 on a Saturday, and only needed 5 on Sunday. The 5 on Sunday took almost as long as the 20 on Saturday. I've had tons of Sundays where I did 20+ rides no problem within 8 hours, suddenly it takes 5 hours to do 5 rides. It's total BS. They want us to give up and go home when we're right next to the finish line.

Those are the worse companies to work for, they should go to hell. I was crying after 12 hours work on my second day, I made $129 including tips. Do the match, I spent $35 on gas, is my car, I have to pay insurance, car registration and other expenses that involve to own and drive a car. I got paid $5.54 to drive a family of 4 from a busy tourist area to a resort that was 8.5 miles away plus 3 miles that I drove to pick them up a total of 11.5 miles. I got no tip from them. Uber don't pay your gas, car insurance, no vacation time, no sick time, and if a customer complained they can fire just for one complain. After doing the match, $129-$35 gas = $94/12 hours=$7.83 I ended up crying all night feeling so dumb and stupid.

My acceptance rate on UBER is 28%, I take only the rides I want, rides that are 10 minutes or less away, period.

I love how Lyft says pay includes pickup.. yeah right 15min to pick up and another 10min to the drop off and the pay $7.38 for 25min of my time. Decline

They definitely do that, sometimes I get the high surge at LAX and if you get out the que, you keep the bonus surge but you won’t get rides and if you turn off the app and turn it back on you’ll get immediate rides

This also applies to DD and UE. This is why they continually hire new drivers, who don't know how the system works so they take shit offers or they're consumed by being "Top Dasher, " which means absolutely nothing. I knew this was happening. I get shitty offers from DD non stop and then all of a sudden, crickets out of the blue. They're purposefully sending me these ridiculous and egregious offers bc i refuse to lower myself and take them. Like, who orders food 20 miles away and what smart driver would even take an offer? I get stacked orders paying out $6.50 total for 2 orders. WTF. They're all scum at this point. It definitely wasn't like this last year. I did really well. Now we're being penalized for declining.

this makes sense to me, l am about 5 away to Bonus, and then l am not getting anything for a while, l call, they say so many drivers in the area, but even going to other places, l know are busy still waiting, and they were sending me alerts that SURGEs were happening, before l turned them off, Wow 😮😟, after reading other comments, l am SKIPPING the QUEST'S, saving the gas, my time, and wear on my vehicle🧐

5:37 the driver gets paid the same amount. After the “this is how you get paid lecture” I had a Lyft rep confirm “it does not matter what the rider pays, the driver pay is calculated at the same rate unless you are/have a bonus included for that ride”
We do not get paid on any rider increase to the fare. DIA ride from downtown Denver; rider paid $125, I was paid $32 WITH a $9 bonus. That ride should have been at least $30 without a bonus.
Boulder to DIA used to be ~ $65 with tolls, now average is $30 and they route without tolls which typically takes way longer.
It’s crap, we all know it’s crap but as a PT driver the flexibility is still a huge factor; you need to “play the game” knowing the rules change constantly and take advantage of what you can. Last ride option when it’s busy and stay in this area option for streaks.

Every single time I get close to a pay out for a bonus or anything like that, I begin to struggle to get rides. Every single time. I can even be in the middle of the busiest time of the evening in the busiest part of the city and all the sudden everything dries up and I get no rides. They have even went as far as to say that I did not complete a ride that I did… As in when there is a bonus for taking so many rides you get so much money. I had a writer that completed their ride but it got marked as canceled and I got zero points. And this was on a quest of 50 rides. I got all the way to the end of my day and I knew that I had 50 rides but it only showed up as 49 and I went through every single one of my rides and got to one ride where it said zero points but it said two minutes and one And a half miles. They are dirty crooks. That’s all there is to it

Same situation in Florida. Had a friend in my driveway order a ride. Gave him cash for short ride to make my bonus. Another driver got ride 15 minutes away. Quit. Hours wasted in area others got rides. Cartels have illegal driving for them here. They don’t speak English and are happy to get what they can.

They do the dynamic pricing with the surges as well. They will decrease the base fair and then attach the surge price to it basically equaling out what the ride would be normally without the surge. It’s all of Eden switch scale that they do to drivers.

Uber decided to give me a background check last month, which I'm still in. I was close to achieving Diamond and could do it easily by the end of September. I believe they put me in the background check so I wouldn't get Diamond and the money associated with it. Uber and Lyft do not give a spit about the drivers even though it's we who allow them to be paid umpteen millions of dollars per year. I'm in driver hell and will lose my apartment in twelve days. Wow we have been saying this for years. Everyone needs to spread this news like everywhere and to every and anyone who is a driver on any platform, or even a customer. Absolutely despicable, when I think of all the times I was one trip away from a bonus and ended up wasting my good time sitting around hoping. Ugh

They have streak bonuses 3 rides in a row the 3rd ride looks like this $72 for 146 miles you don't accept the 3rd. Ride you loose the Streak .unacceptable

WTF!! Is this seriously happening? We are so screwed as drivers/delivery drivers. So F'ed up no wonder why my work has slowed down and why I have to work longer hours I live in New Orleans and we have been busy with festivals but I have been noticing less work when years before I was always busy and the map is bright red yet Im sitting in my car waiting for work and I don't get any bonus anymore they stopped giving me bonus. We aren't protected from this crap. I am glad I saw this video.

They are applying the same algorithm to the pax fare. I’ve noticed that when I pick up at a high end hotel here in Vegas the fare is considerably higher vs. a pax who is being picked f up at a less exit dive property
