In my personal opinion Lego is A) saving time and money by using an already existing figure and B) the instructions didn’t say the figures were going to be exclusive forever but it also didn’t say they were going to be exclusive for a short time

Honestly they could have slightly changed the design to please everyone, but I personally don't care. But I'm still super happy for everyone that can now own Rex.

My friend saved up about 5 months to get the venator for Rex (in Australia the set is $1000) and the day it arrived the y wing was announced

The text on the instructions says that bot figures (were) exclusive to the ucs venator (at the time) i saw no indication on the text that it would stay that way.
