It makes me feel loneliness, uncertainty about the future, but also hope at the same time. XCOM organization fighting alone on this big planet Earth against the alien forces, without knowing if all their efforts are going to really make a difference against the alien invasion forces.

Far superior to any other geoscape music i heard so far (including moded).
Hits this perfect note of sadness, uncertainty and nostalgia for better days. And every so often you hear these notes of looming danger. Just perfect.

Inspired from a comment from the original UFO defense geoscape music I had read. I decided to do a reimagined version.

Yes. Twenty years had passed since that fateful day you were captured. Put into a damn box and forced to command nameless troops in war game simulations. When your old number 2 officer Bradford broke you out, you didn't hesitate to don the command chair once more. Commanding tired eyed veterans and fresh faces you wage a long war against an enemy that had global control of the world. With nothing but scavenged old weapons, armor and a ship that was brought down and repurposed for your own means. You did not hesitate to make the resistance factions see reason that the time had come to retake the homeworld from the elders. You made ADVENT pay for those last twenty years. Despite the propaganda against you. Despite being labeled as terrorrists. You did not hesitate to fight on. Even when you discovered the hidden agenda of the aliens you marched on. You knew failure was no longer an option. Those humans in those green storage tanks are but a taste of what was to cone should you fail. And you fought on. Despite the death of an old friend. Despite the mad experiments from an old colleague you never stopped. You slowly began turning the technology of the aliens against them.

And they send out their strongest. Their Chosen. Yet you persevered. ADVENT and their masters may have killed many of your XCOM agents but you made sure to pay them with every drop of blood they had spilled. No victory without sacrifice.

And when the time finally came to assault the underwater base. You did not hesitate. For all the crimes, and the lies. You made the Angelis Ethereal and her ilk experience the fury of humanity.

Strange observation for me to make but this reminds me of winter. Why? Because I usually always go back to Xcom 2 in the winter months. Its dark outside early, its cold. You get home from work and its all warm and cosy in the house, you spool up Xcom 2 with the legacy soundtrack on (its been my favorite ever since its implementation) and all is good ❤
