How To Set Up Air Mode (Airmode) On A Switch In Betaflight

Air Mode helps our quads still have control when we dump the throttle, but it also causes them to bounce on the ground when landing as it sends a feedback loop to the FC. In order to perch in precarious places where we can't afford to bounce or don't want to just disarm and drop into a landing, and when we want to send the quad sliding across the ground without it bouncing, we put Airmode on a switch so that we can turn it off as needed then back on again for open air.
This is also nice for whoops and things indoors where Airmode can over react to small bumps.
So here's a quick setup guide.

Plug In USB To Quad
Look To Top Right
For Port To Change
Showing It's Detected

Click Connect

Check Quad Moves Live
Under Setup Tab

Go To The
Configuration Tab

In "Other Features"
Turn Off
"Permenantly enable Airmode"
So That It Can
Be Turned Off
Using A Switch

No Yellow = Off

Save And Reboot

Wait for Port Detection
Then Re-Connect

Go To Reciever Tab

- Radio Powered On -
(Plug In Quad
If Needed To Power Reciever)

Verify Controls Reach
Betaflight

[Should Have ShownAux Channels As Well]
(These Are Set Up In The Radio)

Go To Modes Tab

Here The Aux 1 Switch
Toggles Arming On / Off

Find Air Mode
And Click
Add Range

You Can Select Your
Aux Directly or

"Auto" Will UseThe Next Switch It Detects

There Is A Small Yellow
Indicator That Needs To Be
Inside The Yellow Range
To Be On

Don't Make The Range
Too Narrow

Toggling Successful

Use A Switch That's Normally In
The On Position While In Yellow
And Can Be Reached
Mid Flight To Toggle Off

Save

Time To Head Out For
Perches
Grinds And Slides!
