UPDATE: over 2 MONTHS LATER & it still runs great!

Fix your moving, shaking and banging washing machine.
If you're washing machine is shaking violently and scaring your cat and small children every time you do laundry, it's most likely this suspension rods.
You can try this before replacing loose suspension rods that aren't keeping the spring in place. I tested heavy loads with blankets and the washing machine ran smooth through the spin cycles.
Here's a link to the 1/4 inch hose clamp I used.

Here's a link to the suspension rides, if you choose to replace them.

Everything nowadays is disposable. You tell me, why they can't design a better dampening system ? Another thing, it seems to me, these new machines, corrode like if they are submerged in salt water. Another example of consumer exploitation.

I actually thought of something like this after replacing the rods but still experienced minor shacking. Don't know what else could be the problem unless the new rods were faulty. I'll be getting clamps pronto.

No scared cats, love it. I was thinking of doing the exact same thing on Samsung washing machine suspension rods. Great to see it works, will give it a go.

The grease they use is more tacky, so it grips the rod. Inside the part that is on top of the spring is a foam gripper and grippy grease. I'm going to try to drive some small brad nails into that foam to increase the pressure on the rod then use the extra grease in the top cap to reapply. I can't spend 40 to 50 on new rods. If my idea fails, I'll use your clamp idea.

I tried this and it doesn’t stop the tub from swaying side to side. I’ve replaced all 4 rods and even changed the hub. The tub just has way too much sway and I can’t figure this out. So discouraging.

Buy the oem springs .It's beefier and heavy duty, I wasted my time and money on the cheap stuff !

I saw someone using some plastic zip ties. I'm wondering if your clamps will break the plastic.
I changed the rubber rings under the legs (similar stuff from a hardware store) and I added a thick foam under the legs (getting flat under the weight); the washing machine didn't move on the floor today... I'll try with a heavier load. I hope I won't have to fix the rods...

Great idea! I think I'll also wrap a little tape around the rod might hold it even better. Thanks for sharing!!

Hello I recently watched your video on the suspension rod fix. I was wondering if that worked and held up?

What about J BWeld applied to the foam core and the rod just above the foam?

Still running good? I am tempted to try this but a little worried the clamps you put on the rod which sit up inside the socket in the bottom of the tub will get chewed up?
