For a while there, Phil could do no wrong. No Jacket Required is one of the best albums put out in 1985 and this song is as strong today, as back then. The album itself, stands up to the test of time. Love this song!

That bass was NOT synthesized! That was Leland Sklar there with the beard….studio and touring bassist extraordinaire. You NEED to watch this live in Paris. The energy is off the charts. The word Sussudio was originally used as just a “place holder” until Phil could think of a title. He finally just kept it because he liked the sound. No meaning. It’s just fun!

Those are The Phoenix Horns (Earth Wind and Fire's horn section). This song was SO BIG when it came out.
