I think the electric saw is a wonderful idea, you can use it no matter what, and you aren't dependent on external fuel and oil to keep it running, perfect for off-grid!

You're so right about buying property (specially land) for years I saved some money and last month, after looking at a lot of different options, I bought some land. It was what I wanted, a mix of woodland and grass, it has some nice creeks, and next year We'll star building. It's close to some big lakes, so I can take down my kayak.
There's nothing like owning something you can enjoy for years.

My mother owns a bit of property on Echo lake in Nova Scotia Canada. Her father grew up there. I have visited it twice myself when I was 12 and 13. There were 3 cabins on the lake back then. God bless.
