The primary job of our hamstrings are to create knee flexion, but they do assist the glutes with hip extension as well. Here is a short breakdown of hamstring anatomy and one of the exercises I use to help keep them strong.

Just found this - Yep, KB swings are great exercise, especially for runners. ...Usually, this move is called a "Power Swing" when putting the bell down each cycle too.
