Vishu is a cultural festival celebrated in the Indian state of Kerala, Tamil Nadu region in Karnataka, Mahé district of Union Territory of Pondicherry, some neighbouring areas of Tamil Nadu and their diaspora communities.

Vishu is celebrated to mark the onset of spring and harvest season in the country. It also marks the triumph of Lord Krishna over the demon Narakasura.
