Makes me realise my cars actually in pretty good condition and the small things I'm constantly repairing would probably be ignored by the majority of people.

The one getting a new engine at 13:26 I would honestly decline to even do the repair. I’d tell the customer “look your entire undercarriage is rotted and this car shouldn’t even be on the road now let alone in a year from now. If you wanna find another shop to take your money then fine but I won’t even put my name and/or business name anywhere near this. I can’t I’m good conscience take your money on this”

The really amazing thing is that these owners are able to stand upright and feed themselves! 😂😂😂

It always amazes me how some owners can spend hundreds of dollars on accesories yet $60 bucks for oil and filter are a waste of money!!!!

Those Ford Escapes at 3:11 & at 15:54 are prone to rot like crazy in the rear. Ill never forget how terrified I was driving my first one to a body shop to get fixed. The body guy my job used made his own hand made templates for each side for fixing these because they were so common to rust out in the northeast.

Those East Coast mechanics gotta have some serious horror stories when it comes to seeing parts falling off from rust.

It's a miracle some of these vehicle owners didn't die on their way to the shop!

I live in a "no safety inspection" state and after watching these videos I am even more leery about driving around. Some of that is just scary.

I work in a motorcycle repair shop an it amazes me how people can come in with brakes that are worn beyond medal to medal, as in worn into the cups. When ask if they notice anything unusual when braking, they will just no they were working fine, then my brakes "just quit working".

Those cut rims happens when somebody leave a caliper bolt loose. Happened to my father-in-law. The shop had to pay 1000$ for a new rim and tire.

I applaud the patience and sense of humour of these techs, it’s a thankless job and most customers have absolutely no clue.
My father was a Cummins mechanic for 30yrs and he discouraged me from going into the Industry for these exact reasons, most really don’t care at all

I knew it! They just put timing belts in there to charge more to customers!!!

Never downplay your car issue, the mechanic IS infact going to find the issue and it wont matter how small of an issue you SAID it was.

Most of these sort of issues we see day to day… unfortunately, some are also the result of other shops not doing their job. Not to disrespect any fellow mechanics, but I’ve seen shit like this literally driving away from having just had a service

That’s why in New Zealand we have yearly safety inspections, no in section, no insurance

Most of these can be fixed with a little jb weld and duct tape. Perfectly fine.

You know you fucked up when a non mechanic such as myself looks at it and goes “that doesn’t look right”.

Nothing like a well-oiled set of spark plugs! 😅

7:55 The end of the diff breather hose on my ute is situated higher than my head is when sitting in the ute. So if I get water in my diff, I'm in way more trouble than just having to change that oil.
