Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, under questioning at a Homeland Security hearing Wednesday, told Rep. Kathleen Rice, D-N.Y., that when parents are incarcerated at the border, "we in this country do not take the children to jail."

Where is the document saying that the U S agreed to take in migrant's that are officially participating in this U N migration pact? All countries that signed this pact agreed to provide safety and to offer asylum to all people migrating into their countries! WTH does that have to do with the U S ? Why are people who are living in countries that agreed to care for them, being allowed to seek asylum in the U S ? If any of these people are being oppressed or abused in countries that signed this pact, these people need to be filing complaints to the U N ! The U S is not a participating country, and should have NO obligation to any people coming from ANY of these countries! The U S should force these countries take responsibility for these migrants, demand that they take all these people into their countries, and reimburse the U S for all monies being spent on dealing with this situation !

"As a consequence for the parent going to jail, we in this country do not take the children to jail" . Practically speaking, every enforceable law results in child separation. She couldn't be more clear, but somehow people fail to grasp this very simple concept. If a parent and their child breaks into Ms. Rice's house, I wonder how that would've been handled?

One must understand that the adult that accompanies the children to the border are only their parents 50% of the time. The child is given to a smuggler to take to the US and the family believes once the child is in the rest of the family can migrate legally.

I hate how they answer such convoluted and layered questions and expect an answer in 3 seconds. If you ask a question that requires an answer which hinders how long you have the floor, then that isn't their fault. It's yours, the one who is asking the question. If you have 5 minutes and have 10 questions, then trim the fat on some of them and only ask the essentials. Only ask the questions that need to be asked, and can be answered without you having to cut the person off.
