NEWTON DIDN’T DISCOVER GRAVITY

Would you believe that, if I told you that Newton did not discover gravity. Ancient Hindus knew about it in 628 CE, more than 1300 years before an apple fell on Newton. In 628 CE, Brahmagupta first described gravity as an attractive force, and used the term "gurutvākarṣaṇam” in Sanskrit to describe it. He wrote three lines for gravity in his book Brāhmasphuṭasiddhānta “The job of water is to provide coolness, the job of fire is to burn to ashes, the job of Earth is to attract everything to itself.

Then after 500 years Bhaskar II elaborated this concept and wrote about the law of gravity in his book Surya Siddhanth. He stated that “Every object falls on the ground due to earth’s force of attraction. This force allows the sun, earth, moon and constellations to stay in the orbit.”
So, ancient Hindus knew about gravity at least 1300 years before Newton was born.
