If you are using a wing with a single cylinder, and therefore enjoying all that freedom and security compared to a jacket BC, you can definitely get away without a single tank adaptor by threading the cylinder bands through the wing and then through the slots conveniently provided in the backplate. It is just as solid as with an STA and you do save a bit on weight in your baggage.

#askmark You have mentioned in multiple videos that the inflator hose usually attaches on the side for a single cylinder config and in the middle for a double. However, I noticed that the recent XDeep mono wings have them in the middle. Can you talk about that configuration? Have you tried it and will the inflator get in the way of the valve and regs? I like all features of the XDeep Zen for instance but I am hesitant because of that configuration. Obviously it works or they wouldn't sell it, but...

Hi! Thanks for the very helpful video. I have a question about wing lift. I'm considering purchasing a twin 12L setup and was looking at 65lb lift double bladder with with a retractor kit. I realize that 65lbs is overkill for a twin 12L setup but I'm wondering if there is a problem with extra lift in this case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi & thanks Mark,
I recently read (and successfully tried) that for a single tank setup, without an STA, it was not mandatory to bolt the wing on the plate, and the 2 tank bands where just enough to securely hold everything together. Any opinion or experience on this please?

#askmark Hello to you and Sean if he's watching. I wondered whether there is a way to combine DIR style setup and a full face mask. Are there any guidelines on this? Answer much appreciated :) #bobbitwormlove

The idea of the bungee squeezing the air out is not true under water. The water pressure is going to be the dominant force in this scenario.
