This is why folk music was popular in the 60's. It's instant commentary on the situation at hand. Well done man.

In a matter of hours, Jesse writes this, memorizes it, records and posts it's great. Dude you are fantastic.

This is REAL music. These are REAL lyrics. It's so refreshing to hear that this music is still around.

“There’s blood on the bleachers.” That harmonica solo just set it into stone. Rest easy.

At a time like this in America, music is the only thing that still feels real. Thanks for sharing your folk songs with people. Sending love from LA.

“Blood on the Bleachers” could be a good secondary title for this piece of poetry. I just wish we could all appreciate these songs for the lyrical-soul-lashing that we all kinda need lately.

I'm a 76 year old "Boomer". I don't know if you wrote those words young man. But I can tell you this, that your head and your heart are EXACTLY right in what you say. Do not stop. America, (and the world) need MORE songs and inspiration like you son. Do you mind if I call you Jesse "Dylan" Welles ??

Yesterday about 3 hours after the attempt I looked at my parents and said in a day Jesse Welles will have a song about this.
Here we are the next day, and just as I expected you present us with it.

How do you write such songs so quickly about our times, Our country and our people...?

You are magic sir.❤

"We don't put folks to death for having different opinions"

Feels like a LOT of people have forgotten about this in the past 4-8 years...

This section is absolutely beautiful. The half line, “there’s blood on the bleachers” followed by the descending chord progression with the haunting held note on the harmonica waiting for the resolution creates such a sad tension. It sounds exactly like heartache.

I’ve listened to all of them but I keep coming back to the last 15 measures of this one. Well done Jesse.

Im beyond impressed how shortly you wrote something that is so good, and love the harmonica! The line at 1:02 followed by the harmonica instrumental gave me chills
