Blender 2.8: Modelling with Curves: The Flipped Normals Lightsaber

Показать описание
This is a follow up in the series of modelling with curves. On the Flipped Normals Channel there is a tutorial on modelling a light saber.

I decided to model this with curves. Actual time is 20minutes, and I will upload the full video unedited and with voice over and some hints.

Feel free to comment on this video and I am happy to answer your questions.

Great technique! It reminds me CAD modeling. 2 questions please:
1. In your videos the handles of all points are visible. However in my Blender they are hidden until I will have selected proper points. How can I make them visible independently of selection state?

2. Lets say I duplicated a curve(Shift+D). Is there a way to merge 2 end points of these 2 curves?
I now we can create a new section among them(F). But, hey, it's a new geometry and we want to maintain the original geo. I couldn't find any "join vertices" function for curves or an addon.

Is there a way to insert a vertex in the middle of a line. Say you didnt realize you need a point somewhere in the middle of the light saber but didn't realize till later on?
