We Bought 1,000 Burgers | Nas Daily
Показать описание
For the cost of one night stay in New York, you can buy 1,000 burgers and feed up to 1,000 people here. No exaggerations.
And for the past 303 days, I've never asked you to share any of my videos in the video itself. Never. This is the only time I am asking you to share. This is bigger than a person or a Facebook page, and I think it could resonate with more people.
MORE DETAILS:
24 hours ago, Sandy and I were thinking: why not buy the cheapest burger ($0.20) and review it? But Nas Daily is not a food review page, I said. So why not buy a 1,000 of these burgers, give them to the poorest of the poor, and make a statement on how far a few dollars can go in helping others? When you see people asking for $1 or $3 donations...these still help! That's the message I want to get across.
So, I hit up my Filipino friend D Myco Lam and she immediately said yes to donating the full amount (thank you). Sandy hit up his team at PinaSmile Mnl and they immediately said yes for an 8 AM meet up the next day. The day is now over and this is what we did. In less than 24 hours.
I have more thoughts:
I watched a documentary called Poverty, Inc that argues against the normal charitable giving and advocates for promoting entrepreneurship instead. I happen to agree with it. I personally think the only way for these poor Filipinos to get out of poverty is if other Filipinos and the government do something about it. Even if I show up with a billion U.S dollars to that mountain, I don't think it'll change much.
