It has been another crazy week for Starship development and Space Launch news! Over at Boca Chica Starbase, SpaceX finally used the Giant Mechazilla Chopsticks to lift a booster onto the launchpad, something never done before! We also saw the rise of another tower segment at the rapidly-growing launchsite at Pad 39A as well! Elsewhere, we had 2 launches from China, 1 flight from South Korea, and an always-great Ariane V! Furthermore, NASA finally announced that they have completed all tests required for their massive SLS Artemis 1 rocket, so expect to see it rolled back to the VAB over the next few days for final launch preparation. All of this and more in today's episode of Space This Week!

Australia also launched their first rocket in over 26 years. It was a 300km suborbital launch for NASA.

I absolutely love how new falcon 9s look and if they cleaned a few to make them look like they're new then that'll be great but if they didn't, I like the used look too, especially as dark as it is in this case

Hi Matt!

Thanks for the space this week series, I don't have much time to check out everything by myself so I just watch 15 mins of space this week and I know everything

The fact that this might happen next month, makes me really hope they would do it on the 21st or 20th, as that would be the 53rd anniversary for the Apollo 11 Landing on the moon.

Just imagine if both Starship and SLS launch on the same day. That would be epic.

Am i the only one who gets excited when Matt announces the sponsor of a video and cant wait to hear the transition

I sincerely hope your views will pick back up soon, methinks starships first orbital test could kickstart interest in space flight again.

That transition into the ad was so smooth. Never seen anything like it xD

The Booster 1060 looks like a carbon composite booster

The used look of Falcon 9 reminds me of the grubby looks some ships in Star Wars has, and I'm all for it

I love the way he introduces the sponsors of the video 😂

In regards to the soot, I wonder how much buildup it takes to start affecting performance? I've heard even a thin coat of paint can add several tons to a rocket's weight, I would think even a thin layer of carbon over the entire body would have a similar affect.

All that soot weighs something. It would be in their best interest to clean it. It adds up over time. Probably not a significant enough saving I guess.

It’s 2am, I hope this is my last vid.

SLS (as slow as the program may be) is basically flight-ready with proven engines which have completed a full ~9min burn together on the vehicle,

For SpaceX to reach a similar status, it’s going to take a LOT of work and unless there’s some sort of miracle, a good bit of time as well. I can easily imagine a few issues popping up with insane amount of plumbing and engines on the booster, plus their interactions while being fired.

Anyways, for this round I say it goes to SLS easily - but by the time you see another flight-ready SLS rocket on the pad, I’m sure SpaceX will have flown MANY starships.

Miss the space next week and I feel lke this has been more space x last week instead of all space like the series used to be hope it comes back.

i dont think i could ever be more excited for a static fire test, eventually running 33 engines at once will be absolutely incredible!

If they clean the boosters they could paint a small number on it somewhere relatively safer that shows the landing count.

Idk who will go first neither SLS or Starship but good luck to both NASA and SpaceX that develops these big rockets.
