Honestly Charlie has always been and will always be my favourite character in your AU (something is wrong with me, i know.), but I really like her not because of her attitude, but because of her character development. Her reasonings may never justify her actions, however it made me felt like she's a realistic if that makes sense since I've seen a lot of IRL people similar to her ~

Honestly, Charlie isn't wrong. They do love her and we've seen that William sees Charlie as Elizabeth (well the fake one anyway).
Elizabeth also had a hard life but you can't ignore Charlie's pain of it.
I feel bad for her more than Elizabeth due to this. At least Elizabeth has friends. Charlie basically has no one.

I guess she’s kind of right though, she is just Elizabeth’s cheap substitute. The Afton family treats Elizabeth badly because they don’t ever want to except the truth, all of them. So they blame Elizabeth and use her as a punching bag. They treat Charlie nicely because she’s not actually part of the family I think.
