I´ve tried growing (and propagating) in water, but have found out that that is not compatible to my care.
Check the PH, check the EC, change water every "whatever" and so on and so forth.
Don´t get me wrong, growing in water is for almost all plants possible and very interesting, it is just too much for me.

My Dieffenbachia threw a fit for about the first week when I transferred it into Pon. But that was when I didn't know the tip to grow it in just water for a week or so before Pon. But, Diffy got over it's Mad and now it is absolutely thriving. It just took off like crazy. So pretty. Highly encourage Pon and self watering pot for Dieffenbachia.

Soil roots absorb water and are different from water roots which repel and control water intake. Better to chop a large plant and restart it in water with new roots.

I use miracle gro water soluble plant food. The one that turns the water blue, would that be good for my water plants? Or I’d need an honest hydroponic solution like you would with leca. Unless you can use the same stuff with leca, in which case, cool leca isn’t as complex as I thought, it’s just super complex not mega complex

I have about 200+ plants and I am switching them all to diy pon. My Hoyas are loving it! I am so done with peat moss substrate, plus it's really bad for the environment. Whereas diy pon can be reused endlessly. I may move my peace lilies to straight water. I'm concerned about my ferns though. If anyone knows how to transition ferns, please post it. Thanks!

My neon pothos seems to take much longer to start rooting. Same with the global green pothos…

I use rain water or purified water and it thrives. I haven’t had to use fertilizer. Anthuriums too.
