Great show.

One of the major reasons why white working classes have fell behind is that the parents *genuinely believe* in state education. They genuinely believe that their duty is just to get the child to school. They then *trust* the state to do the rest. When of course the reality is that drive and ambition only come about through pushy, driven parenting.

This is all compounded by the way the parents themselves are often treated like children by the schools. Which further removes responsibility and the role of leadership from the parents.

It'll only change if there's a cultural change and working class parents realise they have to take charge.
