Remember, none of the US bank failures in 2023-24 are "Systemically Important Financial Institutions". I think the way it's mostly likely to unfold is that bank failures continue to happen until one of the big 4 banks (BoA, JPM, Citi, WF) either collapses or is on the verge of collapse. Lawmakers know how unpopular bank bailouts are. There needs to be some sacrificial lamb of a name brand that goes bankrupt to really drive home the emergency and motivate the use of taxpayer money to bail everyone out. That was AIG/Lehman in the last cycle.

I believe it’ll be a bank bail in this time not a bail out… in 2010 Obama passed the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act,
This allows banks to bail in meaning taking deposits to become whole again at the customers behalf.

Private banks are no longer needed. Either US Bank will be nationalized “ie Citzens Insurance in FL” or the Government will come out with a new bank to issue CBDC.
