This indeed was the very first video I saw from you as I am studying the Book of Acts. And how you started the video was like you were talking to me. I thank the Holy Spirit for leading me to your page and using you to speak to me because when you said you believed that this chapter may be something I need, you were not lying.
For a while, I have been struggling with how to talk to my family about Jesus. They are in the world and opening demonic doors through horoscopes and ‘protection’ from this ' evil eye’ things I used to use. And I'm so passionate about Jesus that you can see that when I express their wrongs and what they are doing I realize from this chapter how many times Paul was shut down and did no harm from all the time he was shut down sent to jail and never was discouraged because sometimes I battle with that. I even noticed that speaking in the name of Jesus I felt no faith but I knew He about His miracles. But when you mentioned getting into His Word, reading then KNOWING what He has done and still is doing today, our faith grows deeper. I prayed about this week needing help in understanding Him and knowing He is the true healer and demons flee, I confessed that I didn't believe the way I knew I could. Answered prayer...Thank you, Jesus. 😭

It is important to note that Paul, assuming the twelve men were believers, asked them if they had recieved the Holy Spirit since they believed ? If people automatically recieved the Holy Spirit by simply believing the gospel message then Paul didn't know what he was talking about.
On finding out that they hadn't even heard that the Holy Spirit had been given, Paul asked them how they were baptized ?
Paul.is still seeking to find out the reason that they hadn't recieved the Holy Spirit yet.
He knows that if they were aware of Peters' message in Acts 2:38 then they would have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
They reply that they had been baptized by John. Paul tells them that John said to believe in the one to come after him, Christ Jesus.
Their response to this was to immediately go down to the water so Paul could baptize them.
They didn't make a statement of faith, and their is no indication that they mentally had believed in Jesus at that point.
They believed by what they did, and that was to go to the water to be baptized.
Then when Paul layed hands on them they recieved the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues.
How did Paul know when they had recieved the Holy Spirit ? Because they spoke in " tongues".
How did Paul know that they weren't just speaking in native languages that they already knew ?
Because they spoke in the same one spiritual language that he spoke in when he recieved the Holy Spirit.
All through Pauls' ministry to the twelve he is leading them to salvation according to Acts 2:38.

I liked that Paul did not ridicule the persons who had not heard about the Holy Spirit

Love the Bible study. Did not John the Baptist have his own disciples?? Would they not have continued to baptize people the way John taught them?? Curious.
