Hey Chad don’t feel bad. I ran a rescue farm for close to 18 yrs. 95%
of the animals were sick or injured. The most we had was 104 at one time. I was also working full time as a medic and my husband worked full time as well. It was my love for animals and a stress release as well for me that kept me going so long. In addition there was no other farm for any livestock to go to. One day my husband came in the house to a sheep. I’ve also had chickens, ducks, rabbits, you name it in our house when someone was sick and went down. I also had my wildlife rehabilitation license and took in raccoons, squirrels etc…I only kept a few livestock, no wild animals. Everyone throughout the yrs got adopted out of released back into nature where they belonged. Keep up the great work. I appreciate and respect how you take care of them. I know many are going to be food, I completely understand that. I eat meat from the store. The only difference is your meat doesn’t contain all the unnecessary garbage. Even though I don’t have my farm anymore after my husband passed and became a widow under age 50, I still only buy eggs and meat from a farmer about 49 miles away and will continue to do so. I dont trust or even like the taste of per se Walmart beef. Thank you again for your wonderful videos and your precious family. GOD bless

I knew a woman who raised a calf inside for a whole Missouri winter, around 50 years ago. I'm sure they walked it around in the yard as much as was possible, but it was a bottle-baby.
That's a huge and noble commitment, whether y'all keep him, or someone else does. I hope he can recover from the infection. ❤

My boys were babysat at a farm. Walked in one day winter of 1997 when it was brutal cold and my 1 yr was asleep on the bathroom floor with a newborn calf holding his tail. Cutest thing I ever saw.

He's a sweetie for sure. So glad you and Rae decided to bring him inside to help him. Hopefully mom will still take care of him.

Hi Chad, you have a wonderful wife, but I know that you know this. She loves those animals. She is a good mama to all babies. Never say never, because thats how you now have a calf in the house. Hugs to yall

Hi Chad! You might consider getting a calf blanket for the baby. It’s supposed to be pretty effective on keeping calves warm in bad weather. Then he can stay with Mom. ❤

I grew up on a farm and I can't count the number of baby calves we brought in the house over the years. I bottle fed them, even slept on the floor with them by our wood stove. It was hard but it sure was worth it to see them make it. All of the mother's took there baby back once we returned them. Good Luck with your little guy and GOD BLESS.
