I watched a challenger 2 drive through my village when I was younger (training exercise?). When he turned the corner at the park I was at, he ripped up the road and left big divots for each track. Those tracks cause some serious damage to asphalt. RIP this road.

I am glad to have found this video. The comparison was not fair of course especially focussed on mobility where the Centurion never had its strengths while the T tanks are kind of specialized in this.

The Centurion is a 1940s design and it is impressive how how much potential it had for upgrades enabling such a service live. After 50 years of service with so many armed forces around the world ait was a well deserved retirement and will remain surely a milestone in tank development. Love it!

I got to sit in the driver's seat of a Challenger 2 at RIAT 2018, it was weird to get my head round the periscope but actually very comfy when I got down there!

Best tank in the world. Never lost one in battle that had not been recovered. I believe one was attacked in Basra with an insane total of I believe 3 Milan atm, around 40 to 70 rpg of various types, multiple mixed anti tank missile and rockets and all often driving over an anti tank mine that blew a track off. The crew sat safe inside for hours waiting for recovery. I may be a bit off with details. But it was a well known incident.
