Japanese knockout competitions are crazy. They had a second-division club winning the Emperor's cup last season and they qualified for the Champions League because of that.

Being major underdogs, scoring at least a goal against the opposition and then losing in a penalty shootout is the worst feeling. I've never experienced it in real life but I have in FM. I'd rather lose 10-0 than lose 2-2 on penalties. Those kinds of defeats crush you.

Having lived in Japan for a couple months because a study abroad program I can tell you that the Japanese are very proud of local achievements. People will give it their all to root for their own communities. This must've been quite special on the community side along with the fútboling side

Where do you think Mitoma came from, , Japanese use kinda the same African system where Schools act as the Academies..so imagine if they had proper football academies in Quantity, imagine the Talents that would come out of there.
