I realized I have several episodes of your videos I’ve missed so I’m going back through them. I really enjoy your format nothing but fun, love it. No politics no pushing your goods. I just adore and love how you talk about misadventures, as I have them too. I have standing whips when I get stuck. Go back to some haven’t finished others. I don’t know any knitters local to me that I know of. I feel funny asking for help. In CA I went to my local yarn shop. Didn’t go there to knit to but did ask the shop keepers for help in the beginning. I can now figure it out by videos. No one in my neighborhood that I’ve met seems to knit. No one in my family knits that I have access to. We are all spread out far and wide. So I do my best alone and watching videos and how to videos. My husband helps with the math and sometimes patterns that don’t have enough instruction for me to grasp. I’m a retired artist instructor and have experience with many medias. I used to work in galleries as an art consultant, owned my own long long ago then got the guts to sell my own jewelry, purses and more. I was convinced by manufactures to work at their trade shows, I designed for them, and taught around the country for 20 plus years too. I am retired from all of that. But I had various careers in the arts, Decors, working for my dad, he was a designer to the stars in LA where I went to high school. After I married my third husband we have had to travel about from country from government contract to government contract. Not complaining. We’ve lived in lots of places. That made teaching and traveling to teach quite accessible. However, I’m now a 66 years old an am an enthusiast of fiber. Its easily portable and relaxing so I adore it. I still have some languishing whips on holders and needles. I also have whips of needle point projects and embroidery too. But mostly when I have time not I want to knit and chill. Sorry for the long story. I knit for the 00enjoyment of making things. My husband helps me when I need help with a pattern. Often he can explain it because me because he is a master builder of RC models, air planes, helicopters, and sail boats, cars long time ago for our son. He builds many he’s even designed a few sail boat RC models too. His career is as an engineer that design’s aircraft systems for the military 45 to 50 yrs plus years. They keep pulling him back to working because he designed many of the systems still used today keeping our military safe. Working government projects often to highly classified he cant tell me about them for 25 yrs. It’s interesting for sure. He could would have loved to have retired years ago. But younger engineers don’t know the things he knows and the generals frequent his expertises. So we’ve lived in many places. We have settled in TX and don’t plan to move again but we both want to retire elsewhere, its too hot for me and too cold for me. Im a San Diego girl. I love boring 75 degrees year round . Wow way too long, so sorry. Stay well!

I find your podcasts and find them refreshing and very real. I enjoy knitting along in my recliner with my cat on my lap all the way from Australia 🇦🇺

So nice to hear about your Maryland trip! Happy to hear your Mom went with you, that is amazing that she could walk around and enjoy herself in spite of the nasty weather! Plus you got to meet Chevis! I love her as well! I have heard people compare the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival to Rhinebeck, it takes 2 days to just see everything! Definitely on my bucket list. I can’t wait to see all your gnomes, they’re going to be adorable. Have a wonderful spring 😘

Linda as always such a fun podcast ! I just love your sweater it turned out beautiful ! The yarn festival looks wonderful I would love to see it one day hubby just retired I might be able to convince him to do a road trip there 😉 . It’s so nice that your lovely Mom and you were able to see your sister I am sure you all had a great time ! You are really clearing your long term WIP’s I am doing the same thing I started four summer sweaters last year and never finished. I just sewed in all the ends on the 3rd one last night 😀. While I am watching your podcast I am working on the final sweater it’s a Love Note only about 3 inches to go on the body ☺️. Take care

Linda, your Deschain sweater looks great on you! The aubergine colour suits you so much! And your sister's shawl is just beautiful! Oh my gosh you made me laugh with the story about the boots. The same happened to my husband with a very nice (and not cheap at all) pair of black shoes that he hadn't worn for a while. And it happened of all places at my Mom's funeral! They were ok at first, but after 15-20 minutes they started leaving black tracks all over the carpet at the funeral home so he had to walk in his socks for the rest of the ceremony. The sole was literally disintegrating! They don't make shoes - or boots - like they did before! 😄

Your Deschain is beautiful and the color suits you, Linda. So nice that you and your mama visited sister. I’m sure you’ll all have great laughs reminiscing about those boots someday. Our knit/crochet group is hoping to make the trek to MD Sheep & Wool in 2023. Hope we get to meet you. Thank you for sharing. Always fun. -lajoyagirl
