"Not smutty enough." He he. I wanted to read Vladimir but couldn't get over the Harlequin Romance cover. Thought about ordering the UK book which has a superior cover but I kinda want smut given the subject.

I love Laing’s writing, and I love New York, so must read The Lonely City. Really need to get to Balthasar’s books. If you, Julie and Rebecca love her, she’s got to be amazing. Cassandra at the Wedding sounds ace. Absolutely zero need for nervousness. Fab as always.

I’ve now added both Permafrost and Cassandra at the Wedding to my list. They both sound incredible!

Eva Baltasar is such an excellent writer, and Julia Sanchez really knows how to let that shine through. I need more books from that duo!

ok yes as a Californian I agree that Cassandra is a very Californian story! I read Didion’s essay on growing up in Sacramento before and it influenced how I pictured Cassandra’s hometown

I just bought myself a copy of Boulder - hope to get to it soonish! Cassandra at the Wedding also sounds very interesting.
