I was in a dilemma; trying to figure out what the best option in how to keep my bike secure when stealth camping (dispersed camping) as I bike tour. I finally look into this matter further on the internet and lo and behold, they showed the Big Agnes BlackTail Hotel tent (yea!) I now can store my bike inside a secure area as the bike is also close to me with less worry while sleeping if someone will come and steal my bike. It is also much less load weight compared to others that also have a large vestibule for storage. I got a great price deal for a 3p BlackTail Hotel on E-bay. (Very happy). Now me and my two dogs can go camping and enjoy the great outdoors. Thank you for demonstrating and discussing the pros and cons of this tent.

That was an excellent review. I kept wondering about the vestibule being “free standing” but you covered that as well. I loved the way you measured it as I was uncertain as to what the tent floor area was. Thanks again.

I use one stake for the wall and two of the "extra" tie downs. It works well like that. Almost like it i intended that way!

How did you find the fly setup? The tent itself looks pretty easy, bur does the fly add much complexity?

Do you think you could fit the bike in that vestibule, either with a stand or lay down (to fit most of it)?

It looks like you have the new Blacktail body with the old fly/vestibule. The new body has the taller inner sides with an all green fly, and the older version has shorter diagonal sides, and the green and light gray fly that you have. I have the older Blacktail 3 non hotel version with the shorter sides and green/gray fly. That being said, it's an excellent tent either way, and I've ridden out some nasty storms here in the Arkansas Ozarks, and splashback with the shorter sides has never been an issue with the vestibules and ends guyed out properly. Not to mention that the older model has the single "rainbow" zippers, which most people seem to prefer. That being said, I also have have Big Agnes Big House 6 Deluxe with the optional vestibule that my wife and I use when camping together. Both are just fantastic tents. It's hard to beat a Big Agnes in any situation.
