You know they are going to fuck it up. A miniseries is a good idea in the right hands.

I'd rather see it as a TV series. Maybe 10 episodes with minimal continuing plotline (the original "Star Trek" did fine without being serialized the way everything is now). In fact, make it a quasi-anthology with different actresses in the role, different writers with their own unique takes on the character.

Well, at least we'll still have the original....

Let’s just say, there is a specific trend that started with a movie about ghosts, and I strongly suspect that it would be financially inadvisable for a remake of Barbarella to follow that trend.

A "more feminist" version "did not come into fruition when Dino de Laurentis was still alive" for a reason - it is a cult classic, and it was, from the very beginning, exactly what it had to be (and still has to be) to become a cult classic: A blue print model for three decades of science fiction movies AND for comic-real life enactments, a firework of creativity in every aspect which was as radical and pioneering that it was not easily accepted by the broad public in the beginning, while its ideas and cinematography is enviously copied by generations of less creative filmmakers in both genres "scifi" and "comic" for decades.
Imagine a lukewarm, misandrist "equalitarian" remake full of crappy, woke "ideas" which are, in an artsy fartsy context of filmmaking, no ideas whatsoever, just boring useless ideology and the drum of "inclusivity" and what not beaten to death once more.
Barbarella does work for an array of reasons that might probably not taste like ambrosia for woke idiots, while that does not change a thing in the ways that did and do catapult Barbarella into the cult-region: it was goddamn seggsy last not least because Jane was a goddamn seggsy, body-conscious woman that happened to be a good actress creating an approachable character, it thematized different "approaches" to "seggs" and everything around it, and, after all, the movie celebrates the sweaty, fleshly, smelly, corybantic way *_we_* barbarians do it down here on earth, with Barbarella "drawn in" to and finally "convinced" of that way to do it, and it plays with the diametrical differences between girls and guys and the bandwidth each have on their side of the aisle while not denying basic instincts and basic attraction laws.
An ideological remake with an (worst case) obese Barbarella of color in unseggsy, unrevealing security-tents from opaque materials travelling a gynocentric world full of simps and ridiculously powerless, pruned "men" stomped into the ground by unrelatable, disappealingly woke and appalling "alpha-females" (an oxymoron in itself) was the worst thing that could possibly happen to the grandious movie De Laurentis and his artsy contemporaries created back in the days.

Yes that's all we need is yet another woke movie with feminist themes. They'll ruin if if they do that.
