If you crave sweets, have them, but try to limit your intake and lead a healthy life that includes, walking in the morning, meditation, yoga, and possibly a 2-mile run and light training for 20 minutes in the evening. If you keep your net calories to around 1300 to 1500, you can lose weight over a 2-year period. I can tell you from my personal experience that a low carb diet really messed with my GI, because the substitutes for the carbs ended up causing more gas, heartburn, acid reflux and GI issues. Cauliflower, Broccoli, Sugar Alcohols, Erythritol, all caused insomnia and worse issue than weight gain. Lead a balanced life and try to focus on getting fit over a longer period of time. Focus on Sleep, meditation, muscle building, portion control and fasting. If you do a daily 12-14 hour fast, you will be able to eat whatever you want.

Low carb diet can be done.. its the healthiest stuff you can do to your body.. remove highly processed food and replace it with natural food.. remove high sugary fruits to lower in sugar fruits.. remove grains and inflammatory seed oils .. add curd, butter and ghee, coconut oil... Eat whole grains and lower gi forms of rice if u happen to indulge once in a while.. its the little changes that matter over long term.. and no, low carb diet is not a health risk at all
