To be honest I have basically lost all faith in Ubisoft over the past few years of poor releases in my opinion, but I really do hope if this it true that they will just take the time necessary to make a good game. Especially since it’s Star Wars.

I really want a game like this... it's what I have always wanted in a Star Wars game, however, it is a little worrying that a game would come out earlier than expected. That usually means "Get this game out so we can get money" which usually means not a great user experience, and this has been happening more than not these days with the big company names (just look a Blizzard for example).

I have hope, but with a dabble of caution.

The game you described at 3:20 is Star Wars Galaxies. Lots of people don't even know it exists. It was an MMO from 2003-2012 and was taken offline in favor of SWTOR releasing, but it's got 3 different versions of the game running on emulators that total over 2000 players per day play even after all these years. That's more than many currently live MMOs on the market. It's pretty amazing.

The good old SWG had some great ideas, and I felt it was a real loss they entirely turned their backs on open worlds and "do what you wish to do" approach, which was VERY beloved in SWG times.

We really need Jedi knight academy 3. Like more robust and what not. I absolutely adore JKA 2. And apparently there are mods for it

Back in the early days of Star citizen. There was a Star Wars mod floating around. And literally. It is exactly what you're talking about. In fact I think when it disappeared is exactly when they started production on this one. But if SC is any example. Then the SW universe will be as difficult or more to create.

I’m hoping that this game will allow us to play in certain factions and even switch factions as we progress. Such as starting as a Sith and turning towards the light or going rogue as a bounty hunter.
