Suicide Mission - Mass Effect 2 Piano Cover | Sheet Music [4K]

Happy Friday! I launched my new Mass Effect album last Tuesday, please check out the trailer that I posted on the same day here on the channel, or the album itself with the link above if you want to take a closer look :)

The crown jewel of that album is this arrangement of "Suicide Mission", arguably the most well known or popular track from the series. It's one of the hardest arrangements I've written hands down. Not in playing difficulty (although it is quite tough), but in the difficulty of creating it. Not only is the original a full blown orchestral track, but most of it is in 7/8, a non-standard time signature that feels different to work with. Finally, the track itself is one large medley of Mass Effect (and Mass Effect 2's) central melodies. That fact offers several challenges by itself.

The key goal for me was to keep a high build up and intensity throughout the track, as one of the largest issues I experienced in the process was that the arrangement felt drawn out or that it was losing momentum. That's why some sections are shortened down, as two hands alone simply cannot create all of the crescendos and ups and downs of an entire band without compromise. And with all of that in mind, I'm happy with the raw intensity and drive I've managed to draw out from it. Especially the middle sections with the Illusive Man's theme, and the very few last bars. I hope that you'll like it!
