We Built The Most Powerful Mini PC! It's Insanely Fast For A Tiny Machine!

I built the most powerful Mini PC that I could with the parts I have on hand and this Thing is a powerhouse!
With a mobile Ryzen 9 4900H and a desktop, Nvidia RTX 3080Ti running over an m.2 eGPU adapter this tiny machine can play basically and PC using Ultra settings with a 4K resolution! In this video, we test out Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Doom Eternal, GTA5, and Dirt 5 plus we see how well it handles PS3 and Wii U Emulation in 4K!

Surprisingly, even with the graphics card using only 4 PCIE lanes of 16, power limited with the 280w psu, and with a fan and a half blocked by the PC- it still managed to squeeze out just over ~80% of its max perf based on its 3dmark graphics scores (not overall); it's basically performing as well as a non-Ti 3080 in a normal desktop. Really not too shabby.

If I was in the position of adding a GC to the mini PC I would design a combined case X monitor stand for the GC and 3D print it

I don't know why minisforum or one of those mini pc builders don't build a machine with an x16 slot on a side (and a power input for it). I'm pretty sure there could be market for it as a modular pc of sorts.

would be cool if you could mount the mini pc internals on the back of the GPU with standoffs and get a 3d printed back panel so its a gpu size mini pc. or use a shorter 2 fan GPU but with a 3 fan cover and the mini pc is mounted at the end of the GPU under the third fan.

This gave me an idea that you theoretically you could get something like a 3060 in itx form and slap it into a case with the same dimensions as the pc with a quick connect and create a gpu “hat”

Imagine shrinking that RTX 3080Ti's die to fit within that case with a tiny psu there and still get the same performance with the same 4k resolution and ultra settings. That would be fabulous!! Technology has come a long way and still improving day after day.

I really recommend doing this good thing with a laptop as many people have them laying around because their GPUs get over dated a little. And so they think of buying a new machine that would cost them grands.

I had no idea that you could connect a gpu to a m.2 slot. Does that work on laptops too? my laptop doesn´t have thunderbolt.
