Watching it now... What a great ambassador and teacher/speaker (McFaul).
Point of information: This is February 18, not "1.18.22" as stated in the title.
And today we are on the cusp of .... something. Anything from "kerfuffle" to World War.
Good show here, as timely and deep a discussion as one could wish for.

At around the 16th minute, the guest cites a wing of the Republican Party that is sympathetic to Putin. Perhaps that's true but the illiberal ideology of a Putin doesn't just extend to the extreme fringe of the GOP; the illiberal Left certainly exists in America and, as we have scene recently in Sweden, I believe, where Christians are being questioned and sued for speaking of their own religious beliefs. So, this isn't a sole Right wing issue; it happens on both extremes and until that's addressed, people will continue to go into their insulated corners.
