I was raised on peach cobbler! Also, during the summer when the blackberries are in season, we risk getting eaten alive by chiggers to pick enough for a blackberry cobbler! Both peach and blackberry are delicious.

Mrs.H, you are a wonderful cook and you are brave. Most people do not attempt to make everything from scratch. I do it but I grew up doing it. You do a great job making these foods for the first time from scratch. Most of people mess it up the first time they make a dish from scratch.

Looks really good and tasty!! The crunch on the crust was perfect too.
You can make a cobbler with that butter and crust method using almost any fruit. Have even made it using fruit cocktail. If you use apples, add some cinnamon and allspice.

Yeah, I am not a cake person so for my birthday my mother usually has made me my favorite dessert, peach cobbler, and I always want to just eat the entire pan full at once.
I have been living part time in South Carolina (where my late father and stepmother lived, being caretaker while we finish selling off their property) and East Tennessee (basically home for much of my 55 years), and last year during the season I'd stop every week or two at a farm store on the way to acquire fresh fruit for my 80 year old mother: peaches in the summer and apples in the fall, literally five to ten pounds worth every trip, and she'd bake up a storm when she wasn't working (still working part time as a speech pathologist in schools at 80). It was wonderful to always have one or two different kinds of baked goods ready and waiting for me for my trip back to SC. :-D
