Having never played a Final Fantasy game before, I was always touched by XV’s message “for fans and first timers.” I absolutely bawled at the ending in 2016, and after seeing it on sale this fall I’ve been replaying it.

I never knew about the portable player before (big miss I know) so this time I obviously wanted to hear all the other FF OSTs while I ran around. It made for some really great moments, like after they found Insomnia burning it returned to Aerith’s Theme.

But nowhere in particular FFI’s main theme played, and oh my god I stopped in shock. I never knew they used the first FF theme for the ending of XV, and honestly in that moment I got way too emotional over what it all meant.

Now I had no idea they did it for almost every game until literally just now seeing this video LMAO, but for a time I thought it was really special. I hope y’all felt the same hearing your first FF game’s ending.
and I can’t wait to see them together again and really feel it this time haha

When the theme song of Final Fantasy 12 sounded, my tears could not help but flow down, because I remembered my father who died of cancer 6 months ago. The game I often played with him during his chemotherapy was Final Fantasy 12.

I bet you many folks didnt know that the theme was present in FF6. Just stuffed all the way at the end of the ending theme of the game where it made a surprise entrance. Making it more powerful.

I remember getting through FFIV's prologue for the first time, and hearing this music. Up to that point, I didn't know game music could be orchestral like that. First Final Fantasy game.

In over 30 years of Final Fantasy, this one theme really captures the fantastical world that Final Fantasy is. The fact that Final Fantasy can even exist is because gamers like us have fallen trapped to its greatest stories and music for decades. It's definitely a feat unmatched in the world of gaming. This is our Final Fantasy Anthem! It doesn't matter which version you hear, but when you hear this lovely music you are reminded of the 30 plus years of great storytelling and musical wonder! So enjoy it for the next 30 years to come!
