The glass has a conductive film on it and there is probably a battery in that base

The glass has a thin green coating called TCO ( Tin conductive Oxide ) which turns this glass into a conductor on on side of the glass. At the bottom of the wood you will find a battery connected to the glass, one side is positive the other is negative. The probably is a fine line in the middle separating the glass TCO separated into 2 forming the positive n negative junction right where the switch is & the Led

Wow! But what's really cool? Is how very clear your diction is. You are SO easy to understand and fun to watch because you show things very nicely to the camera. You are a real showman!

Let's ask electroboom.. I'm sure he can spend half an hour explaining that lol

200 years back you would have been burned for this physics trick 😂

is it a piece from a touch screen? they have a tin oxide coating that makes it conductive

Maybe.
The wooden base has a battery and proper resistor that connect to the almost transparent conductive film on each side of the glass through spring fingers in the slot.
The switch is discretely modified to make contact to the film, as is the like the led.
When the switch is closed it will short the limited current and the led will extinguish.
Open the switch it’s resistance goes infinite and the led illuminates.
One test I can think of based on his assembly technique is if the switch is not in the hole, it will illuminate.

Battery and light source in the block of wood
Hes switching it on with his thumb
Light transmits thru the plastic till its bent by the led

It is easy when it runs with a battery and it is all connected through the special glass lol but pretty dope.

Battery in the wood. Glass is conductive. It has a green tint to it. Green is copper oxide.

Photosynthetic cell, diode using milliamp and/or microamps. The tinting of the glass allowing continuity, inside the switch is probably small coils relaying the micro ampherage from 1 side of the glass through the switch and coils, to other side of glass in milliamps where diode makes contact to the tinting ....

That face after Jeremy says "it lights up!" 😭

The switch terminals aren't even touching the plastic....and both of the LED leads are on the same side of the plastic....been a long time since I studied electrical engineering but this is a damn good trick.

The glass has a thin layer of Indium Oxide/Tin Oxide mix which conducts electricity and transparent. Also used in Flat screen TV's.

ha ha no block of wood led won't lights up... coz battery concealed in the block of wood😂

2 Batteries inside the wood and the glass-masked TCO that is it WHAT!!!

The delay stands out to me. Any kind of actual electrical connection would be basically instant. Must be wireless whatever it is.
